The Girl Behind Traveling Tessie

I’m so glad you’re here! I created Traveling Tessie in 2019 as a place where I can share my love of travel all while balancing my full-time job. I absolutely love to travel, but I also love learning about new things—especially when it comes to culture and food! And since I've never been one to follow the crowd, I've always enjoyed finding off-the-beaten-path activities, boutique hotels, and hidden gems in my favorite destinations around the world. When you're traveling, you get to learn so much about people and their cultures—and that's what makes it so special!

I believe that there is a lot more to travel than what you find in a guidebook or on forums. I want to make sure my readers get the most out of their trip by highlighting hidden gems and companies run by locals such as tours, hotels, restaurants, and more. My mission is to help bring tourism back to the locals by helping them gain exposure for their businesses so they can continue to thrive as well as supporting small businesses who are owned by locals in each destination I visit.
