I’m a sucker for well-decorated boutique hotels so when I saw RISE Uptown hotel while browsing hotels in Phoenix, I knew I had found “the one”. Yes, nightly rates for boutique hotels are typically a little more than your average hotel, but the staff, attention to detail, and features are always well worth it (and the proof is always in the reviews). Plus, you’re bound to have a unique experience at each property. Overview

RISE Uptown Phoenix opened its’ doors in 2021 after completing renovations that transformed the prior longstanding motel into a mid-century modern masterpiece. This boutique hotel is locally owned and prides itself on incorporating as many local businesses as possible. Each of the 79-rooms are designed with precise care to maximize the space and the design choices couldn’t be better. The fun mid-century vibes are carried throughout the hotel from the fun, vibrant wallpaper in the guest rooms to the giant neon sign at the entrance. Checking in is easy and quick at RISE Uptown. Head to the Pop Stand to check in and treat yourself to a free popsicle upon arrival! Average nightly rates at RISE Uptown hotel are around $200, making this an extremely affordable option, while prices vary depending on the time of year. Be sure to check out their website for current deals and offers for special events like bachelorette parties, booking early to save, and food or drink credits.

The Features

  • Pop Stand – Located at the front of the property, this is also where you’ll check-in. Grab your free handmade popsicle when you check-in and try out another flavor during your stay. Pop Stand offers boozy and non-alcoholic options, and the flavors are constantly rotating.

  • Lylo Swim Club – A complete oasis! This hotel pool is like no other. Access to the pool is included with your stay at the hotel. Get a wristband at the entrance, choose your striped lounge chair, and get comfy for some time in the sun. Be sure to order one of their fun drinks, like the adult dole-whip ( photos above), and food from their Hawaiian Japanese themed menu! *Tip: if you’re a local or staying elsewhere and want to check out Lylo Swim Club, you can purchase a day pass for the pool.

  • Don Wood’s Say When rooftop bar – Located on the penthouse level, this rooftop bar has great views of the Phoenix skyline, as well as Camelback Mountain. The mid-century modern vibes continue here with the décor and drink menu with nods to the 60s & 70s. There’s even firepits for those cooler months in Phoenix!

  • Parking – self parking is available for $15/day.

  • Cartel Roasting Co. – a local favorite. This coffee shop is on-site and offers single-origin beans and delicious vegan bites.

  • Complimentary wi-fi

  • Four room options available

The Rooms

Each room at RISE Uptown is bound to put a smile on your face with bright wallpaper, tons of natural light, and modern touches. There are four room options available including mini rooms, studios, balcony rooms, and Firepit rooms that are located on the ground floor and have private outdoor patios complete with your own firepit. No matter which size room you choose, you’ll still feel like a king or queen with luxury amenities from LATHER, Egyptian cotton bedding and king sized beds in all rooms! I stayed in the Mini room during my stay, and it was perfect size for one person and could comfortably fit two people. I felt right at home and slept wonderfully with not being able to hear a peep from my neighbors or the rooftop bar.

Located at 400 W Camelback Road, this stylish boutique hotel is situated in the heart of Uptown Phoenix. If you’re not familiar with the Uptown neighborhood in Phoenix, then you’re in for a treat! Uptown has quickly grown into one of Phoenix's coolest, hippest neighborhoods over recent years and there’s not sign of stopping. In Uptown you’ll find amazing local gems to shop at like Frances and Local Nomad, as well as some of the best restaurants in town! Grab breakfast at nearby Fàme Caffe for farm-to-table fare and head over to Culinary Dropout for happy hour or dinner for crafted cocktails and delicious comfort food.
